This is an original quality brass circular potstand or trivet, dated to the early 1800s. It is stamped with the model number '6862'. The very unusual central boss, incorporating a white porcelain mount, is fitted with a hinged support stay. The cast stay matches the cast decoration to the three circular platform supports, with Eagle head feet. Above this stay, the circular support is cast with two right angled hooks, designed to be mounted on the front of a fire grate or on the bars of a kitchen range. it is 8 3/16 inches diameter and is in untouched period condition.
