This is a collectable early tin opener. It is made of solid metal with a ball hammer on the end (a sold one recently as a fish priest to clout the fish out of action). The length is approx 4½ inches. These fish openers were made by various firms from the late 1870's to open tins of sardines and are much rarer than the ones made with a bulls head. This is still in robust condition although it has worn quite smooth with years of wear.
